Thanks to your support, the catalog for the anniversary exhibition "10 years MKdW" / July 31, 2019 to January 12, 2020 is the first publication of the Friends, Sponsors & Patrons!

On July 31, 2019, Museum Kunst der Westküste will turn ten years old. When Museum Art of the West Coast opened in 2009, no one could have imagined that it would become such a huge success.
To celebrate our anniversary in a fitting manner, we have conceived an appropriately ambitious exhibition under the title "10 Years of MKdW". We have made a finely tuned selection of 100 highlights from what is now a collection of almost 750 works of art. Almost 50 masterpieces have been added: They are precious exhibits from renowned museums and private collections along the West Coast. Loans come, among others, from the Statens Museum for Kunst Copenhagen, from the Skagens Museum, from the Berlin National Gallery, from the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, the Kunsthalle zu Kiel, the Ordrupgaard Museum, Charlottenlund, and the Landesmuseum Hannover.
The exhibition is under the patronage of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The non-public opening will take place in the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, H.E. Friis Arne Petersen, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Wepke Kingma, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Petter Ølberg, as well as the Minister for Education, Science and Culture of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, Karin Prien.
Due to the international transportation of art and the high insurance values, the exhibition involves enormous costs. We are very grateful that the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation, the Cultural Foundation of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, and the NOSPA Kulturstiftung Nordfriesland will absorb some of these expenses.
A major project for us remains the financing of the catalog. We would be very happy if we could win you as a friend, sponsor or patron to help finance the catalog "10 Years MKdW". Together with the other 300+ friends, sponsors and patrons, this would create the first Friends, Sponsors & Patrons publication in the history of the MKdW!
The catalog is intended to initiate a further discussion of the artistic personalities of the West Coast. It will therefore be produced in several languages. We have been able to win the renowned publishing house Wienand Verlag, Cologne, as publisher. With a print run of 3,000 copies, including graphics, layout, editing, proofreading, translation, printing, transport and distribution, the publication has been calculated at a sum of 40,000 euros.
Could you be enthusiastic about a contribution of 50 euros or more? There are no limits to the amount of your support, whether it is 100 € or 1,000 € or 10,000 € and more.
Of course, for a contribution of € 100 or more, you will receive a donation receipt. You will be mentioned by name on a plaque in the exhibition as well as in the publication and online on the homepage. If you do not wish to be mentioned by name, please let us know.
Please mark your calendars now for this date: On Thursday, August 1, 2019, 6:00 p.m., there will be a preview exclusively for all Friends, Sponsors & Patrons with a tour of the exhibition and reception in the presence of the museum's founder, Prof. Dr. h.c. Frederik Paulsen will take place. On this day, as a sponsor of the project "10 Years of MKdW - The Catalog", you can look forward to receiving your personal copy of the publication.
