The Museum Kunst der Westküste does not present a permanent exhibition: we have made it our goal to present the diversity of our collection from various perspectives and in new ways each year.
For this reason, a specific theme or genre is regularly presented through a larger or smaller selection from our own collection.
As you know – for conservation reasons, that is, technical and climatic reasons – each of our masterpieces can also only be exposed to a limited amount of stress. Every single sheet or painting regularly needs a period spent sheltered in our storage area. It is only in this way that we can fulfil our duty to preserve and publicly present – for you and for future generations – the “treasury” of artworks placed at our disposal by the founder of our museum, Honorary Professor Frederik Paulsen Jr.
Thank you for your understanding for the sake of our art’s diversity and welfare.
