Artist-in-Residence Program 2024
Become a committed partner for a program that promotes contemporary art on Föhr and offers the residents and guests of the island a lot of inspiration at the cutting edge.
The Artist-in-Residence (AiR) program requires your help with funding. The basic security of the AiR program is reached with an annual amount of € 12.000. This enables us to enable artists to study and work at the museum and on the island of Föhr to an appropriate extent. Travel expenses are covered by the museum, generous accommodation with living and working space is provided, a small fee is paid, material costs are occasionally shared and catering in the museum restaurant Grethjens Gasthof is made possible at a reduced price.
Since 2010, the West Coast Art Museum has invited artists to work in Alkersum. So far, almost 30 international artists-in-residence have been welcomed, whose activities and works - in very different media - are thematically linked to "sea and coast". The program is linked to the exhibition series Made on Föhr - Artists-in-Residence.
