Hygge room

Hyggelig island feeling at the MKdW! In what used to be called the BLUE room located in front of the large workshop young museum guests accompanied by an adult can immerse in a hyggelig (cosy) feeling of sea, port, freedom, and relaxation even without participating in workshop.

On the dark blue “sea” floor an old wooden boat has moored at a jetty – a wonderful place to snooze or bury yourself in one the available books. Puzzles, books, paper, and crayons wait for creative fun on the extensive “sea” carpet and at the green “Föhr table”.

Parents please note: this room offers hiding places! Young guests can “disappear” in the bright blue cupboard and, sitting on large pillows, enjoy audio dramas on our iPods – or, well, socialise on their own muted smartphones. Sent with a photo of our west coast map, messages will be well received, as they allow anyone to immediately see at which northern point in Germany you currently are.
